Announcing a new local photography club: Skylands Photography Circle. Meet with other local photography enthusiasts to follow a map-guided walking (or driving) tour of Hackettstown between 5:00PM and 7:00PM on Friday Oct 7th. Maps can be obtained at Heart & Sohl Photography's studio (126 Valentine Street, Hackettstown). After the walking tour, join others at Heart & Sohl Photography's studio for refreshments, light fare and to talk about photography and upcoming club ideas. Novice to experienced photographers are encouraged to participate!

Sat, Oct 8th from 5:00PM to 9:00PM Sean and Jessi of Heart & Sohl Photography will display the top 10 images from each participant of the walking tour during the second part of their Open House. I just could not wait another second to share our news with you all! The new studio is ready!

We have been remodeling a 1,000 sq/ft space at 126 Valentine Street since April. Last week we were given official approval by the town to open for business!

Here is a BEFORE photo from back in February:

Here is a NOW photo with everything 99% complete. There are just a few tiny details to finish:

This building was built in 1901 and was a carriage house for the train station. It then became a mechanic shop, and in 1940 the garage which is now Scotty G Auto MD was added onto the building. Most recently 126 Valentine Street was Ann's Dress Shop. We kept a few unique architectural details inside(a must see!) and maintained the original open floor plan.

We intend on having an Open House sometime at the end of September, so be sure to become a fan on Facebook to learn more!

I had so much fun visiting Tarrah at Indian Trail Pottery last week. She and her husband make the most AMAZING pottery pieces. Although my budget would not allow me to take one of everything, I did walk away with a awesome cheese and cracker plate, pitcher and ornaments. Up Up And Away! My Great Aunt's 80th Birthday Balloon Ride

I had the amazing opportunity to escort my Great Aunt on a hot air balloon ride as her 80th birthday wish! Fortunately for me, no one else in my family was daring enough to join her. I was MORE than happy to oblige!! Now, in case you did not know, I am not the photographer in the family, I am a mere apprentice, and I will tell you why... I snapped so many photos of our adventurous launch(ask me about it sometime!), that I ran out of batteries 5 minutes into our flight! Yes, yes, I have already received all the necessary "tisk, tisking" from the pro photographer we all know and love, Sean. In any case, although there are no pictures of me, it was not my day, and I have these few amazing images of my Aunt at 79.9 years old celebrating her 80th birthday. Enjoy!

This may be a little known fact, but Sean and I met at a British car event in PA and Sean proposed at the same event several years later. Our parents are all British car collectors and so are we! The kids may keep us from driving in the "two seater" with the top down more than we like, but we still appreciate a cruise when we can!

Heart & Sohl Photography was locked up to raise money for MDA - $215 raised

Ladies from Hackettstown Regional Medical Hospital. They were getting so many donations they needed more forms! :)

Our Judge at the Lock Up! :)

A littler girl personally delivering bail money to the Hackettstown Police.

I never found out who this guy was, but he was able to raise $300 donations over the phone!

Our son Alex pointed out that the handcuffs they gave us made a heart. :)

Heart & Sohl Photography participated in the MDA Lock Up today to help raise money for children with Muscular Dystrophy. Online and over the phone $215 was raised by Heart & Sohl Photography!!

We had such a fun session with this adorable 5 year old today! He was especially dear to our hearts because he has the same name as our son and was born just a few days earlier, plus his Mom went to H.S. with Sean! Small world!
